Terms of service
Version 2026-10-09. These terms are between you and Adi Carlisle, a sole trader trading as BigThought ("we"), Flat 8 Kings Court, Bennington Drive, Borehamwood, WD6 4UD, United Kingdom. Contact: adi.carlisle@ghostcompany.co.uk.
1. What BigThought is
BigThought is a proxy that forwards your requests to the large language model (LLM) provider you choose and analyses the model's reasoning ("thinking") with a scoring model, showing the results on your dashboard. Scores are a model's automated judgement of text. They are not facts about the model, and you must not rely on them as the only safeguard before letting an AI agent take an action.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and give a real email address. Keep your password, two-factor codes and proxy URL secret; anyone with your proxy URL can send requests through it. You can make a new proxy URL in Settings at any time.
- You are responsible for your LLM provider account, its API keys and charges, and for complying with your provider's terms.
3. Plans, payment and renewal
- Free includes 1,000 scored thoughts per calendar month. Pro costs £9 / month and includes 50,000 scored thoughts per calendar month. If you use your own TypeSafe Jev key, scoring on that key is unlimited and billed to you by TypeSafe.
- Pro renews automatically every month until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices include any VAT we are required to charge.
- When an allowance is used up, your LLM requests keep working; only scoring pauses until the next month.
4. Cancelling and refunds
- Cancel any time in Settings → Manage billing. Pro then continues until the end of the month you have paid for and does not renew.
- 14-day money-back guarantee: if you are not happy, email us within 14 days of your first Pro payment and we will refund it in full. This also covers your statutory right to cancel a service bought online.
- After that, monthly payments are not refunded for partial months, except where the law requires or where the service was unavailable for a significant part of the month, in which case contact us.
- If something is wrong with a charge, please contact us before disputing it with your bank; we will sort it out faster.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use BigThought to break the law, to attack or overload other systems, to get around our limits or security, or to send traffic to anything other than an LLM API you are entitled to use. We may suspend accounts that do, and limit traffic that threatens the service for others.
6. Your content
Your prompts, the model's answers and its thinking remain yours. We process them only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy. Thinking is kept in memory for your dashboard and is not written to disk.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep BigThought running but don't promise it will be uninterrupted. We may change or discontinue features; if we make a change that significantly affects a paid plan we will tell you by email at least 30 days ahead, and you can cancel with a pro-rata refund. We may update these terms; the version number above changes when we do, and material changes are emailed to you.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your rights as a consumer. Otherwise, we are not liable for losses caused by an AI model's actions or outputs, by your LLM provider, or for indirect losses, and our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
9. Ending
You can delete your account in Settings at any time. We may close accounts that break these terms; if we close a paid account without cause we will refund the unused part of the month.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you also keep the protection of your local consumer law and can bring claims in your local courts.
